What if my transport passes through more than two countries?

The calculator works based on the origin and destination and automatically takes into account a typical transit route. For more complex routes with multiple transit countries or alternative routes, we recommend contacting us — we coordinate the complete chain of permits for all countries involved.

How to know what are the free dimensions for a specific country?

Click on the flag of the desired country above the calculator — a complete guide will open with a table of free dimensions, license categories, documentation and escort requirements. Guides are available for all 35 European countries.

How far in advance should I apply for permits?

Deadlines vary significantly by country — from 2–3 working days (Estonia, Iceland, Lithuania) to 3–4 weeks (Spain, Luxembourg). As a general rule: the larger the transport and the more countries it passes through, the earlier it should be applied for. To be safe, we recommend a minimum of 2 weeks in advance for standard routes.

Are cargo dimensions and vehicle dimensions counted together?

Yes — the total combination of vehicle + load is taken to check the free dimensions. For example, if a standard semi-trailer has a width of 2.55m, but the load protrudes 30cm on each side, the total width is 3.15m and may require a permit in some countries.

Are there special rules for weekends and holidays?

Yes, and this is one of the most common planning mistakes. Belgium has a ban from Saturday 12:00 to Sunday 00:00, Norway from Saturday 06:00 to Sunday 24:00, and some countries have special bans for public holidays. Each country guide contains exact time limits.
