different?

Four key differences that make transporting CNC machines require a specialized approach.

    Precision mechanics are sensitive to shock and vibration

    Guides, linear drives, ball spindle and electrical cabinets must be protected from mechanical shocks during loading and driving. Any damage means expensive overhaul or loss of calibration.

    Mass is not always visible

    CNC machines from 3 to 80 tons hide their mass in the cast steel and base plate. Without the exact mass and center of gravity, we cannot choose the right trailer or organize safe loading.

    Loading requires specialized equipment

    Forklift, crane vehicle or sliding systems — depending on the configuration of the hall and the availability of the loading ramp. We coordinate with you in advance so that there are no surprises on the day of collection.

    Customs crossing with industrial equipment

    CE documentation, invoice, possible ATA carnet for temporary export. We check the necessary documentation for each route — no delays at the border.

How much does it cost to transport a CNC machine from Germany?

Should the CNC machine be dismantled before transport?
Depends on the model and route. The head, table or gantry structure is sometimes dismantled to reduce the height or width below the permitted dimensions. Stronmet assesses each case according to the machine documentation — and advises minimal dismantling that ensures safe transport without unnecessary reassembly costs.
How long does it take to transport a CNC machine from Germany, Austria or Italy?
We organize standard transport within 48–72 hours of confirmation of receipt. From Germany to the Balkans (HR, BA, RS) standard 2–3 working days. From Italy 2 days, from the Netherlands 3–4 days. In urgent cases, express collection is possible for an additional fee — but we always coordinate with the plant in advance.
Is the CNC machine insured during transport?
Yes. Every transport is covered by a CMR waybill and insurance. For high-value machines (Mazak, DMG Mori, Trumpf, Hermle) we arrange additional cargo insurance based on the market value of the machine — not by weight.
Can you transport a CNC machine directly from an auction or a closed factory?
Yes. We collect from industrial auctions, bankruptcies and closed factories — including locations without an active crane or forklift. In that case, we will arrange for our own crane assistance to arrive. Please specify the pickup location in your inquiry.
What documentation is required for transporting a CNC machine?
For transport within the EU: invoice or proof of ownership and technical documentation of the machine (CE, serial number). For transport outside the EU (BA, RS, MK): export customs declaration and possible ATA carnet for temporary import. Stronmet checks the documentation for each route in advance.
