Potain MDT — Tower crane jib sections

Transport of lattice steel sections by the jib of a tower crane Potain MDT was completed in 2024 from Hamburg to Berlin. The sections were taken from the crane depot and transported to the active building construction site. The jib sections in the characteristic yellow and black Potain color were stacked next to each other and secured on a Kögel flatbed trailer.

Due to the length of the sections of almost 20 meters, the transport was classified as long-haul transport (Langguttransport) with the required markings and signals in accordance with the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO). The Scania tractor with Kögel trailer ensured stable and safe transport.

Total route length 289 km takes place within Germany. The transport was completed within 1 day. The total weight of the sections was 14.8t, cargo dimensions 19.2×2.2×1.8m.
